Peace Pilgrimage: Nazareth to Bethlehem - Anyone want to go?

47th Annual Nazareth to Bethlehem
Christmas Peace Pilgrimage

Saturday, December 9, 2006

The annual Christmas Peace Pilgrimage is planned for the Saturday, December 9, 2006.

Walk the Road of Peace

The Pilgrimage began in 1960 as a Christian witness for peace. We welcome all persons of any age to join the Pilgrimage, symbolic of the journey of Mary and Joseph. In the 10-mile trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and in the rally, we seek to reflect the non-violent life of Jesus Christ and his truth of forgiving love. Walk with your family and friends and make new friends with others who seek a more peaceful world.

Schedule

Pilgrimage participants meet at the parking lot at 520 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem before 10:45 AM. Buses transport pilgrims to Nazareth Moravian Church on Center Square where the Pilgrimage begins. The Pilgrimage follows PA #191. Persons join at any point along the way. Support vehicles assist those not able to walk the entire way. Dress appropriately for the weather; pilgrims walk in sun, wind, rain or snow. Pilgrims arrive at Christ United Church of Christ, Market & Center Streets, Bethlehem, around 5:30 for a light meal and to hear the Reverend Dr. Bob Edgar, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches speak on “Blessed be the Peacemaker with the Courage to Act

SquareOne in Lancaster

Filed under: All Posts — dplandis @ 3:56 am

I’ve spent the evening in Lancaster, mostly writing an article for Dreamseeker magazine about young adult leadership… It’s nearing 11pm, and we’ll be kicked out in a few minutes.

This is a vacation week for me, so I’ll be spending a few days with Eric in Lancaster before heading back to Harleysville for Thanksgiving.  I’m looking forward to a little time to clear my head before entering the Franconia work pace again.  Hopefully we’ll get out to camp for a night or two, even in this winter air.

Let the adventures begin.  Who knows the next surfacing scheme?

I spent most of my day working intensely on franconiaconference.org, adding a flash photo album and video clip from last weekend’s conference assembly to the front page. I also added AJAX tabs, which are really sweet.

Then I spent the evening studying for the arabic spelling test tomorrow on chapters 5+6. My brain hurts… I really need to sleep soon, now.

I’m making tomorrow a writing day and staying away from the office. goodnight.

Another idea

Try inverting the dark/bright colors on your computer screen.  If you spend a lot of time these days staring at a monitor, the darker colors are better on your eyes.  Just try it.

And then you can use the desktop because it will match.

I made an Arabic alphabet desktop.jpg

Check it out.  It’s got all the letters, most of them in printed form, but with a handwriting guide as well.  And it has a tiger: Arabic Alphabet Desktop file
